Verifying Reasonable Accommodations Prior to Scheduling

It is the responsibility of applicants with CBA-approved reasonable accommodations to verify they are scheduled to receive their accommodations for each of their scheduled tests. Please follow the steps below to complete this verification.

  1. Notify the CBA by email at examinfo@cba.ca.gov prior to requesting a Notice to Schedule (NTS). This step must be taken each time an applicant requests a new NTS be provided.
  2. Upon receipt of a NTS, check that the CBA-approved reasonable accommodations are listed and are represented on the NTS as requested. Approved accommodations will be listed on the second page of the NTS once added.
  3. If any CBA-approved reasonable accommodation is missing, contact the CBA immediately: Staff will communicate with our partners at National Association of State Boards of Accountancy to amend your approved reasonable accommodations and update the NTS. Revisions and re-issuance of an NTS may take several days so plan accordingly.
  4. 4. You must check any new or amended NTS to ensure that each requested reasonable accommodation is listed.
    • Please note that reasonable accommodations must be requested for each CPA exam section appointment.
    • An applicant must notify the CBA each time a new NTS is provided so the reasonable accommodation can be added. In most instances, you will not need to resubmit your request for reasonable accommodation. Please refer to the Submitting a Reasonable Accommodation Request webpage to determine when you must resubmit a reasonable accommodation to the CBA for approval.
